Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others. This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.

Academic Pathway

Training is delivered in stages which correspond to AQF Levels VIII. The preferred pathway for a qualification is for students to complete the requirements of the previous level qualification before progressing to the next level – thereby achieving more than one qualification. Applicants without the previous level qualification will be considered if they have relevant qualification and/or vocational experience. We aim to equip our graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to successfully satisfy the demands of the workplace.

 

Course Delivery & Assessment Methods

      • Delivery and assessment strategies are selected to reflect the nature of the elements and performance criteria of the competency together with the needs and learning style of the participants. Delivery and assessment method includes a blended learning practice including learning management system (Moodle).
      • Assessment methodology may include but is not limited to: observation, project/ report, case study, role play, exercises, activities; and written/oral tasks including multiple choice, questions and answer, essays, true/false and presentations.

 

Entry Requirements for Students

  1. Age Requirements:
    • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of course commencement
  2. Academic requirements:
    • Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent or
    • Successful completion of an AQF Certificate IV qualification or higher from an Australian institution where the course duration was no less than 12 months. (refer to table 1)
    • Some prospective students may be asked to undertake an LLN assessment or enrolment interview prior to acceptance.
    • For Packaged courses, the student cannot progress to the higher qualification unless the student has (successfully) completed the lower qualification.
  3. English requirement:
    • Academic IELTS 6 overall, no less than 5.5 in each band with test results no more than 2 years old, or
    • Other English language tests, such as PTE and TOEFL, are accepted if the scores are equivalent to an IELTS 6.0. Students must provide their results for verification by the Training Masters (refer to table 2), or
    • Completion of an approved Australian English Language course with equivalent level.
  4. Visa Requirements:
    • You must meet the requirements for an Australian student visa subclass 500 or valid Australian visa where you are eligible to study.
