About this qualification
This qualification develops advanced technical and design skills for civil construction projects. Learners prepare and review complex designs, respond to client and site requirements, solve technical problems and support the coordination of civil infrastructure design work.
Learning focus: Manage civil works design processes and technical documentation; Develop designs for concrete and steel structures; Apply geotechnical design principles; Integrate safe design, WHS, quality and risk requirements; Apply business planning, leadership and project coordination skills.
Entry requirements
You must meet Training Masters’ general entry requirements. The national training package lists no additional entry requirements for this qualification.
Study and employment pathways
Further study: You may apply for bachelor study in civil engineering, construction management or a related field. Admission and credit are decided by the receiving provider.
Employment possibilities: Possible roles include Civil Construction Designer, Senior Civil Drafter, Engineering Associate (Civil), Infrastructure Design Coordinator or Civil Design Coordinator.

Assessment methods across this qualification may include written knowledge questions, projects, case studies, reports, presentations, practical activities, role-plays and observation in approved real or simulated contexts. The approved TM assessment tool for each unit states the exact tasks, conditions and evidence required.
