About this qualification
This qualification develops sound theoretical and practical knowledge for coordinating marketing and communication activities. Graduates may work independently, lead project work and support a marketing or communications function.
Learning focus: Identify and evaluate marketing opportunities and the marketing mix; Design and conduct marketing research; Develop marketing communication and advertising plans; Create persuasive copy and improve customer service strategies; Manage budgets, projects, risk and marketing audits.
Entry requirements
Meet general TM entry requirements and one official pathway: BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication or Have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies): BSBCMM411 Make presentations; BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas; BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities; BSBMKG435 Analyse consumer behaviour; BSBMKG439 Develop and apply knowledge of communications industry; and BSBWRT411 Write complex documents; or two years’ equivalent full-time relevant work experience.
Study and employment pathways
Further study: You may progress to BSB60520 Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication or relevant higher education. The receiving provider determines admission and credit.
Employment possibilities: Possible roles include Marketing Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, Campaign Coordinator, Advertising Account Executive, Marketing Research Officer or Digital Marketing Specialist.
